Tottenham Honour Harry Kane – Goals Record

Tottenham and the family of Jimmy Greaves honour Harry Kane after surpassing the famous striker’s goal-scoring record and are given a trophy commemorating his 267 goals. Fans also unveiled a homage theme before Tottenham’s victory against West Ham.

Early in February, Harry Kane smashed Tottenham’s 266-goal scoring record.

Irene, the widow of Jimmy Greaves, and Mitzi Robinson, his daughter, welcomed him.

Spurs supporters and Ledley King also assisted the team in paying respect to the striker.

Trophy Presentation

After setting a new record for goals scored at Tottenham Hotspur with 267, Tottenham presented a unique trophy to Harry Kane.

The England captain, who scored the lone goal in a triumph against Manchester City earlier in February, shattered the mark long held by 1960s great forward Jimmy Greaves.

Kane was welcomed on the field by daughter Mitzi Robinson and Greaves’ widow Irene, who gave him the trophy together with another Spurs hero, Ledley King, the day before the match VS West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

To commemorate his record achievement, Kane later entered the field with his children Ivy and Vivienne while wearing shirts with the numbers 267 and the moniker “Daddy” on the back.

Also, Spurs fans honoured him by revealing a “HARRY” crowd motif at one end of the stadium.

While Kane could not score on the day, his team did win in a crucial 2-0 Premier League victory.

Emerson Royal, who was in fine form, scored the game’s first goal in the 2nd half after fellow fullback Ben Davies set him up. Son Heung-min, who had been benched, came off to seal the victory for the north London team with a goal that Harry Kane had assisted.

Spurs returned to the top 4 for the first time in 2023 when they passed Newcastle after losing to Liverpool on Saturday, despite Kane’s third game without a goal since setting the record, his equal-worst run of the season.

Future Plans

After the game, Kane said that Spurs must maintain their composure after a challenging few weeks that saw them lose to AC Milan in the Champions League, be trounced 4-1 by Leicester City, and watch their boss Antonio Conte struggle to recuperate from gallbladder surgery completely.

Kane told Sky Sports, “We find ourselves in a fairly decent place in fourth.” We remain in the Champions League and FA Cup, respectively. We have a lot to compete for, so we must stay focused. The Chelsea game is in a week, so we better equip ourselves.

When questioned whether there was any truth to Son’s accusations about whether open-door discussions had taken place at the club despite the dismal run of play, Kane also disclosed that he had rallied his teammates.

Kane added that the leaders and more seasoned players prefer to communicate and improve the situation as frequently as possible with the coaches and staff “when you lose a few of things or games haven’t gone as well.”

We did it, and Sonny deserves all the credit for his excellent touch and finishes [today] after coming off the bench.
